Position Overview: Duty Manager

As a Duty Manager at YHA, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our hostel, delivering exceptional guest experiences while managing various responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor team members across all hostel departments, promoting a collaborative and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Utilize our operational systems for effective guest check-ins, check-outs, and other management tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and comfort by performing housekeeping duties, ensuring a welcoming environment for all guests.
  • Assist in food service, enhancing the dining experience through warm hospitality and engaging conversations.
  • Act as the Deputy Manager, overseeing daily operations in the absence of the Hostel/Deputy Manager.

Qualifications and Skills:
We seek candidates who are flexible and adaptable to various shifts and responsibilities. While prior experience in customer service is advantageous, it is not a strict requirement. Experience in hospitality or service delivery is highly valued.

Desirable qualifications include Food Safety Level 2 and APLH Level 2, though they are not mandatory. Essential skills include:
  • Ability to manage varying workloads and pressures.
  • Strong team management capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills and basic IT proficiency.
  • Excellent time management skills in a dynamic environment.
