Job Overview
Pinsent Masons is seeking a highly skilled professional to join our HR Operations team as a HR Compliance Team Leader. This role is responsible for delivering compliance activity in key areas, including Home Office Immigration and Right to Work, Solicitors Regulation and Registration, Visa and Sponsorship Licenses, and HR Data Subject Rights Requests.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  1. Managing the complete visa lifecycle of non-EEA employees sponsored by the Firm, providing advisory support throughout the initial process and serving as the key contact for visa-related queries and tasks.
  2. Overseeing the processing of Tier 5 GAE visa applications.
  3. Assuming responsibility for the Firm's sponsorship licences, including ensuring that migrant activity is reported in line with the immigration rules, coordinating and submitting applications to renew licences, and informing UKVI of changes within the business that may affect the Firm's sponsorship licences.
  4. Leading the planning, processing, and delivery of all HR Data Subject Rights Requests, coordinating the team to ensure adequate resourcing, liaising with the HR Director and relevant Group HR contact, liaising with the Firm's Privacy team, ensuring clear instructions are given to IT/Finance where required, and ensuring the Data Subject remains informed throughout the process.
  5. Supervising the management, security, retention, and destruction of all hard copy and electronic employee data.
  6. Ensuring that the implications of the Data Protection Act 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation, and the Firm's Privacy Policy are considered throughout all processes.
  7. Reviewing the HR risk register and regularly reviewing levels of risk within the business based on compliance activities.
  8. Leading the liaison with relevant law societies to ensure that renewals and membership administration is completed to ensure that the firm complies with the regulatory framework of each jurisdiction.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
  1. Strong knowledge of immigration laws and regulations, including Home Office Immigration and Right to Work.
  2. Experience in managing visa lifecycles and processing Tier 5 GAE visa applications.
  3. Proven ability to coordinate and submit sponsorship licence applications and ensure compliance with immigration rules.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with various stakeholders, including HR Directors, Group HR contacts, and law societies.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review and manage HR risk registers.
  6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
