Role Overview
As a key member of the Subject Support team at AQA, you will play a crucial role in directly assisting our customers in the field of Mathematics, ensuring that AQA remains the preferred examination board for this subject.
Your focus will be on enhancing support for all our stakeholders.
You will collaborate with a diverse range of subject stakeholders across the UK and work closely with Product Management to provide essential insights into how our products are utilized in educational settings and what is most important to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
You will effectively communicate with the teaching community to assist with inquiries regarding our specifications and assessments in a clear and engaging manner.
As an educational professional, you will recognize the needs and challenges faced by teachers and incorporate this understanding into the development of support materials and events.
In this capacity, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to Educational Reform and influence subject-level policy.
Your role will involve providing and delivering support to our customers on Mathematics, while also being open to assisting across the STEM subject portfolio.

Key Duties as a Mathematics Support Coordinator
- Manage escalated inquiries from educational institutions, enhancing customer service.
- Convey essential messages regarding STEM to both internal and external stakeholders and educators.
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering our STEM specifications (Mathematics).
- Engage with educators in the field, utilizing our support materials to facilitate their continuous improvement.
- Serve as an internal consultant for your specialist subject, providing insights and training to customer-facing teams.
- Collaborate with external organizations such as subject associations, Ofqual, and the DfE.
- Effectively communicate the key advantages of AQA's comprehensive offerings.
Qualifications for Success
- Recent experience teaching GCSE and/or A Level Mathematics within the last two years.
- Willingness to travel extensively, including occasional overnight stays.
- Confidence and comfort in communicating and presenting to teachers, parents, and students in a clear and empathetic manner, addressing objections as they arise.
- A solid understanding of the assessment processes at GCSE and A Level, along with a comprehensive awareness of the broader educational landscape.
