The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at BSV Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing mechanical engineering systems for building services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement mechanical design strategies to meet client requirements
  2. Lead project teams and serve as the main point of contact for clients
  3. Liaise with technical and quality teams to ensure design quality and coordination
  4. Prepare technical specifications and mechanical design drawings using industry-standard software
  5. Develop tender documentation and reports
  6. Ensure timely delivery of projects and information release dates
  7. Conduct site surveys and report on mechanical systems in buildings
  8. Design mechanical installations in compliance with British Standards
  9. Create design proposals at various stages of the design process
  10. Mentor junior engineers to support their development
  11. Build and maintain client and design team relationships for business development opportunities
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a building services design role, with a strong background in mechanical design engineering. They will possess a HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent in Building Services or a related subject, and be proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Hevacomp, and IES. Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to travel to project sites as needed are essential.
