About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a GP with a passion for Emergency Medicine to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a Specialist Grade GP, you will be an integral member of our multidisciplinary team, working alongside nursing staff, advanced clinical practitioners, junior and senior clinical fellows, and IMT doctors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a range of acute medical problems and develop your clinical leadership within these areas.
  • Develop medical SDEC specific clinical pathways to complement those already in operation.
  • Play a key role in the interface between Acute Medicine and primary care.
  • Work alongside other members of the Emergency Medicine multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality healthcare in the Emergency Department.
  • Contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement within the Emergency Department.
  • Contribute to the ongoing education of the multidisciplinary team within the Emergency Department.
Requirements
  • CCT in General Practice or Registered on GMC specialist register with licence to practice.
  • A minimum of 12 years full-time postgraduate training (or equivalent gained either part-time or through Less Than Full Time Training) since obtaining a primary medical qualification.
  • A minimum of 6 years' experience in the Specialty Doctor/SAS Grade or equivalent in the Acute Medicine specialty or similar specialty.
  • Experience working in emergency, urgent, or acute care in the NHS independently.
  • Experience in making clinical decisions & managing risk. Knows when to seek help, able to prioritise clinical need.
  • Experience in leading quality improvement.
  • Experience working within General Practice.
  • Experience working in emergency medicine, acute medicine, or SDEC.
