Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Finance Controller, your primary duties will include overseeing the financial operations for designated brands.


Core Duties

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Timely and accurate preparation of monthly accruals.
  • Preparation of monthly deferred and accrued income.
  • Reviewing monthly transactions and analyzing P&L performance.
  • Assisting with brand analysis and forecasting.
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Recording Fixed Assets.
  • Conducting comparative analysis on monthly management information reporting.
  • Managing accruals and prepayments.
  • Supervising the accounts assistant for Purchase and Sales Ledger.
  • Enhancing the reporting pack for key stakeholders within the senior leadership team of the brand.
  • Supporting both internal and external audit processes.
  • Participating in finance-related projects and initiatives for continuous improvement.
  • Managing new and existing supply chain accounts and terms.
  • Reporting on departmental or project performance.
  • Handling other ad hoc duties as required.
  • Preparing and issuing monthly management accounts that reflect P&L performance and balance sheet movements.
  • Monitoring and managing the Short-Term Cash Flow Forecast regularly, ensuring a clear action plan is in place to maintain a positive cash balance.
  • Collaborating with the commercial team to ensure Project Cost Value Reports align with ledger positions and accurately capture direct costs on a project basis.
  • Ensuring subcontractor costs are charged according to accrued positions and certified prior to payment.
  • Understanding payment provisions in construction contracts.
  • Developing transparent subcontract and procurement ledgers that reconcile with the company’s P&L and balance sheet, providing management with clear insights into supply chain liabilities.
  • Working with the commercial team to ensure customers are credit checked, valuation dates are agreed upon, and invoicing is conducted promptly in alignment with cash flow forecasts.
  • Liaising with HMRC regarding corporate tax arrangements.
  • Enhancing business systems related to various business units.

Qualifications

  • Qualified in CIMA or ACCA.
  • Preferred experience in the construction or fit-out sectors, with knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS).
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment handling high volumes of work.
  • Proven management and development experience.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly with Xero and advanced Excel reporting, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic and team collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for conveying key information to stakeholders.

Qualifications Required

• CIMA/ACCA qualification required.
• Experience in construction/fit-outs and knowledge of CIS preferred.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high volumes.
• Management and development experience essential.
• Proficiency in IT, including Xero and advanced Excel reporting.
• Strong attention to detail necessary.
• Strong work ethic and teamwork capabilities.
