Job Overview

This position is a fixed-term opportunity due to maternity leave coverage.

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is seeking a passionate and forward-thinking Community Childcare Specialist to enhance our Health Visiting Service. We are in search of a proactive individual who excels in communication, organization, and interpersonal relations.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will engage in one-on-one, group, and community initiatives aimed at mitigating health disparities in collaboration with a diverse, skilled team. The role involves delivering parental guidance, health education, and tailored care programs. You will provide essential services to families as identified through assessments conducted by Health Visitors and execute planned support packages while monitoring and evaluating care programs. Additionally, you will play a significant role in public health initiatives aligned with governmental health strategies.

The Health Board provides an Induction Course along with continuous Clinical Supervision and support from our Safeguarding Children Team, as well as opportunities for in-house training.

Proficiency in Welsh is preferred for this role; we welcome applications from both Welsh and English speakers.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Basic Education
  • NNEB/National Diploma in Childhood Studies or an equivalent qualification

Desirable

  • Additional qualifications and/or experience relevant to the job description
  • Information Technology/keyboard skills qualifications

Experience

  • Prior experience working with infants, children, and their parents/carers

  • Experience in community or health-related fields
