Position Overview

We are pleased to present a remarkable opportunity for a Lead Cardiac Physiologist specializing in Invasive Services. This pivotal role within our department entails overseeing a variety of clinical specialties.

As the Lead Physiologist, you will be tasked with managing the invasive diagnostic services, ensuring that all performance targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) are met. You will collaborate closely with the Principal Physiologist to drive service enhancements and development initiatives.

Your primary responsibility will be to guarantee that the invasive service provides safe and effective clinical care, supported by strong management protocols. This role necessitates regular engagement with patient-facing personnel.

It is essential to establish processes that uphold these standards and to take corrective measures when necessary. You will lead and meticulously plan activities across various clinical specialties to optimize resource utilization.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be accountable for the organization and management of the invasive service within the Cardiac Centre.

You will directly supervise a team of approximately five individuals, while also overseeing a broader multidisciplinary team that includes nurses, administrative staff, physicians, and porters of varying levels.

Responsibilities include monitoring and documenting staff attendance in accordance with organizational policies, taking appropriate actions as needed. You will also be responsible for strategically planning and scheduling work shifts and annual leave to ensure the effective and flexible deployment of all resources.

The role involves managing and coordinating requests for cardiac investigations for patients within the Pacing/ICD/CRT therapy department.

You will participate in pacemaker and ICD implant procedures, analyzing device and patient interactions. Based on your assessments, you will provide feedback to the implanting physician regarding the appropriateness of electrode placements.

Additionally, you will conduct follow-up clinics for implantable devices using specialized programming equipment, prepare reports, and independently initiate pacemaker therapy prescriptions based on clinical evaluations.

  • Postgraduate qualifications such as IBHRE/BHRS.
