Trainee Metalworker

A259 Recruitment is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our client's team as a Trainee Foundry Worker. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and innovative manufacturing environment.

We are looking for an all-rounder who is eager to learn and develop their skills in metal production. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a variety of roles, including Foundry Operator, Foundry Labourer, and Grinding & Finishing Department Fettler.

• Perform a variety of creative tasks in the production of cast metal products, working with materials such as Aluminium and Magnesium alloys.
• Work in a high temperature-controlled environment, pouring metal into sand moulds.
• Assist with the manual knocking out of Sand Moulds and metal pouring within the Foundry.
• Perform tasks using electric hand tools and abrasive machinery in the production of cast metal products.
• Deburr and remove excess material from castings using electric cutting and deburring tools and abrasive machinery.

• Be physically fit and have good physical stamina.
• Have good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions carefully.
• Have experience of working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a heavy industrial setting.
• Hold a Forklift licence (desirable).
• Be reliable, enthusiastic, and flexible in relation to moving around in all departments.
• Have a strong sense of Health and Safety awareness.

We offer a competitive salary, with a start rate of £12.50, rising to £14.50/£15 + after 12 months. You will also receive full training and the opportunity to attain a Level 3 Foundry Cast Metals Diploma.
