Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Nurse Leader to join our team at NHS Blood and Transplant. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading a team of healthcare professionals and ensuring they are motivated, well-trained, and capable of delivering exceptional care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Take clinical responsibility for ensuring the safe assessment and blood donation of our donors
  • Be accountable for the safe running of a blood donation session
  • Take responsibility for ensuring an excellent donor experience
  • Maintain the competency and skills of your team and yourself
  • Be able to adapt communication styles for difficult conversations
  • Maintain your professional development to help us deliver improvements to our practice

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate who has:

  • Registered Nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration (which must be maintained) as Registered Nurse Adult
  • Hold a full and valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 points (check if applicable)

We require a candidate who has experience of:

  • Demonstrating leadership qualities and understanding the principles of best practice to deliver high-quality care
  • Supporting the professional development of others
  • Understanding clinical audit and research
  • Supporting improvements and change in practice
  • Awareness of patient safety initiatives and risk management
  • Experience of working with Information Technology such as hand-held devices and Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
