Position Overview: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Support Worker to join our dedicated team. This role involves working within an accommodation-based service aimed at assisting young individuals experiencing homelessness, specifically those aged 16 to 25 years.

Core Responsibilities:

The Support Worker will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive support program that emphasizes client autonomy and empowerment. The role requires embodying our core values of integrity, accountability, compassion, passion, respect, and boldness, while engaging in trauma-informed and strength-based practices within a psychologically supportive environment.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Facilitate client engagement and active participation in their support journey.
  • Collaborate with young individuals to develop and assess their personalized support plans.
  • Design and implement support strategies that lead to positive outcomes.
  • Conduct and evaluate client risk assessments utilizing person-centered and trauma-informed methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, guidelines, and policies while meeting contractual obligations and performance metrics.
  • Maintain effective communication (both written and verbal) with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders involved in the support process.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively under pressure, making informed decisions while paying close attention to detail and maintaining a compassionate approach.
  • Align with the mission and values of The Salvation Army.
