Week 1: 19 hours per week

Additional Hours: Bank hours are available. Our extensive care team ensures that there are always opportunities to cover for annual leave and sickness. Hours may vary weekly, with possibilities for full-time hours. Shifts can range from 3 hours to over 10 hours, including day shifts and sleeping night shifts. You can choose to work days, nights, or a combination of both.

Compensation:

  • £13.00 per hour – Monday to Friday, Days, 8:00 am to 8:00 pm
  • £14.11 per hour – Monday to Friday, Waking Nights, 8:00 pm to 8:00 am
  • £14.11 per hour – Weekends, Days, 8:00 am to 8:00 pm
  • £15.24 per hour – Weekends, Waking Nights, 8:00 pm to 8:00 am
  • National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage per hour (dependent on the successful candidate's age), Monday to Sunday, Sleeping Nights, 10:00 pm to 7:00 am

Driver Requirement: Desirable
Accommodation: Private room with toilet and tea-making facilities for sleeping night shifts.
Pets: The family has two small dogs residing in the main part of the house, away from care activities.

Interview Process: Initial telephone interview followed by a face-to-face interview if your application is successful.

Client Overview: Verity, in her mid-40s, has an acquired brain injury and resides in her own home with a dedicated team of Support Workers providing 24-hour care. She is eager to welcome new individuals to her team who can assist her with daily needs.

Care Responsibilities: Verity requires support with all aspects of care, including hoisting for transfers, personal care, PEG feeding, catheter care, pressure care, suctioning, and respiratory care. Experience in these areas is not necessary, as training will be provided, and she will guide new team members with the assistance of her current Support Workers.

In addition to personal care, Verity enjoys engaging in social activities at home, such as quizzes, watching television and films, and going out to the cinema, theatre, or shopping. She loves planning for special occasions like Christmas and birthdays and has her own wheelchair-accessible vehicle for outings.

Communication: Verity cannot communicate verbally but expresses her needs through non-verbal cues, body movements, and facial expressions. Her care team plays a crucial role in interpreting these signals to ensure her needs are met. She is registered blind, and her team describes her environment and activities to her.

Care Requirements: Verity needs assistance and/or supervision at all times during the day and has overnight care provided by one waking night Support Worker and one sleeping night Support Worker. The sleeping night Support Worker has a separate suite next to Verity's room.

Physical Assistance: Working with Verity involves providing assistance with moving and handling, including the use of hoisting equipment. All team members must be capable of managing physical tasks during each shift. Training will be provided to ensure safety for both Verity and her support team.

Ideal Candidate: The role is suited for individuals who are organized, dedicated, calm, and enjoy a fun work environment. Candidates should be proactive and bring enthusiasm to their work.
