Paediatric Intensive Care Unit Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Paediatric Intensive Care Nurse to join our team at Leaders in Care. As a key member of our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to children and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit in the absence of the Unit Manager
- Develop and implement holistic care plans for children, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met
- Mentor and support junior and student nurses, promoting their professional development and growth
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care, including medical, nursing, and therapeutic interventions
- Foster strong relationships with children and their families, providing emotional support and guidance
- Ensure excellent clinical governance, participating in audits and quality improvement initiatives
- Supervise and assess students, and lead shifts as needed, promoting a safe and supportive learning environment
- NMC Child Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN) with immediate paediatric life support
- Post Graduate experience in a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit setting
- Understanding of Safeguarding issues and policies
- Teaching and mentoring experience, with a focus on promoting best practice and patient-centered care
- Completion of a Paediatric Intensive Care Course equivalent to 60 credits
- Excellent clinical governance and audit experience, with a focus on quality improvement and patient safety
- Experience in supervising, assessing students, and shift leading, with a focus on promoting a safe and supportive learning environment
- Annual salary of up to £55,000, with an additional £3,000 per annum for Paediatric Intensive Care qualifications
