Theatre Practitioner Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Theatre Practitioner to join our team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and supporting our surgeons and anaesthetists in the operating theatre.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating theatre environment, ensuring a safe and efficient working space for patients and staff.
- Provide support to surgeons and anaesthetists during procedures, including handing instruments and maintaining a clean and sterile environment.
- Contribute to the effective management of theatre resources, including equipment and supplies.
- Collaborate with other members of the perioperative team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient theatre flow.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and develop your skills and knowledge.

Person Specification- Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care (Peri-operative Pathway) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years full-time equivalent experience as a Theatre Support Worker/Trainee in a Theatre Department.
- Knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers (2013).
- Demonstrates understanding of clinical issues within a Theatre Department.
- Insight into role and responsibilities of post.
- Able to describe the importance of delivering high-quality care to patients.
