About the Role

XOCEAN is seeking a highly skilled Senior Geophysicist to join our team. As a key member of our geophysics team, you will be responsible for processing and interpreting geophysical data, leading a small team of junior geophysicists, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality results to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of geophysicists in data processing and interpretation
  • Develop and implement efficient processing workflows for new and existing datasets
  • Process and interpret shallow SBP, magnetometer, and side-scan sonar data
  • Produce high-quality deliverables, including reports and data visualizations
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure project success
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Geoscience or Geophysics
  • 4+ years of experience in marine surveying and data processing
  • Strong computer literacy and experience with processing software packages (e.g., Chesapeake SonarWiz, Moga Seaview, DUG Insight, Oasis Montaj)
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
Desirable Skills
  • Coding and scripting experience (e.g., Python, C/C++, MATLAB)
  • GIS experience (e.g., Global mapper, QGIS, ArcGIS)
  • Experience with marine survey data acquisition and processing software (e.g., QINSy, Qimera, EIVA)
