Welding Technician Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Welding Technician to support our Welding Engineer in ensuring the quality and proficiency of our welding operators. This role involves onboarding new operators, providing guidance and support during initial qualification, and mentoring them to achieve product proficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Onboard new welding operators, including interview competency tests and knowledge assessments
  • Develop and implement training plans for welding operators, including product cross-training
  • Provide guidance and support during initial qualification and product proficiency
  • Monitor welding processes and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Perform visual inspections and provide feedback to improve product quality
  • Collaborate with the Welding Engineer to develop and implement process improvements

Requirements:

  • Confident communication skills to provide guidance and tuition
  • Minimum time served with City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in welding
  • Previous experience with welding thin gauge aluminum and/or stainless and nickel alloys
  • Understanding of NADCAP requirements
  • Knowledge of AWSD17.1 welder qualification
  • Good organizational skills and computer literacy

Security Clearance: This position may involve access to export-controlled information and hardware, requiring an export license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Employment Requirements: Employment will be subject to satisfactory security checks, export license approval, and completion of a non-disclosure agreement if required.
