We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at United Living Group. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Project Management
- Assist in the preparation of tenders, including checking quantities for major elements
- Analyze tender quotations for exclusions and conditions, and report to the estimator
- Contract Administration
- Ensure full understanding of all bid allowances and complete a detailed handover with the estimating team
- Cooperate with the project team to ensure consistent delivery of successful projects
- Support the Operations Manager in ensuring all significant project issues and correspondence are observed
- Procurement
- Prepare and implement the project procurement strategy with the Operations Manager
- Support the Group Procurement Department in buying deals
- Chair subcontract interview meetings and prepare subcontract enquiries
- Financial Management
- Manage project(s) profit and loss accountability
- Use company cost system competently
- Forecast cash accurately and timely
- Legal and Dispute Resolution
- Assist in the preparation of claims or other means of dispute management
- Study contract documents and advise on onerous conditions
- 7-10 years' experience in quantity surveying or a similar commercial role
- BSc in Quantity Surveying or a similar commercial related course
- Professional qualification MRICS or MCIOB desirable
- Good data interrogation skills
- Line Management experience
- Commercial Awareness with good legal/contractual knowledge and experience
- Experience of Management accounts
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
