About the Role:
TeacherActive is currently recruiting an experienced and dedicated School Caretaker to join a vibrant educational institution.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, security, and general upkeep of the school premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Premises Management: Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the school buildings and grounds, including classrooms, playgrounds, and common areas.
- Security: Ensure the security of the school premises, including locking and unlocking the buildings, monitoring access, and responding to any security concerns.
- Maintenance: Carry out routine maintenance and repairs, including minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work. Coordinate with external contractors for larger projects.
- Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting regular checks and risk assessments.
- Inventory Management: Manage the stock of cleaning supplies, tools, and maintenance equipment, ordering replacements as needed.
- Event Support: Assist with the setup and breakdown of school events, ensuring that the premises are ready for use.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience: Previous experience as a Caretaker or Premises Manager, ideally within a school setting, is essential.
- Skills: Strong DIY skills, with the ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Health & Safety: Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Communication: Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with school staff and external contractors.
Requirements:
- Must have a current DBS check or be willing to apply for one prior to the start date.
