Hamlin Knight is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Management Accountant to join our finance team on a 12-month maternity cover basis. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information to support business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and present monthly management accounts to the Financial Controller and Head of Finance.
- Analyse financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and present findings to the management team.
- Work with external auditors to deliver annual statutory accounts and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collate and process weekly and monthly payroll data for submission to third-party providers.
- Develop and maintain financial controls and procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Reconcile the balance sheet, including fixed asset registers, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and annual P11Ds and PSA returns to HMRC.
- Develop and present monthly cost centre reviews to support business decision-making.
- Deputise for the Financial Controller as required.
- Recognised UK accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- 2-3 years of recent experience in a similar role, preferably in a finance team.
- Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and formulas.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work to deadlines.
- Desirable: experience of Dynamics 365.
