About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Operative to join our team at The Sidcup Care Home. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the care home remains functional and our residents have a safe and comfortable environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks to ensure the care home's facilities are in good working order.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and take proactive measures to prevent them.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of building services, including heating, hot and cold water distribution, ventilation, electrical distribution, and plumbing.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Be flexible to meet changing demands within the care home.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in property maintenance and general repairs, or relevant qualification.
  • Good understanding of building fabric and its maintenance.
  • Practical experience of planned maintenance systems and record keeping.
  • Knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and experience of compliance.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to support neighbouring Bupa care homes.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good customer service skills.
