About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transport Manager to join our team at Robert Dyas. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for the effective management of our transport operations, ensuring that our goods are delivered to our customers in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the daily activities of our transport team, ensuring that all deliveries are made on time and to the required standard.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our transport operations, reducing costs and improving customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with our warehouse and logistics teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination of goods movement.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation, including health and safety, road traffic, and environmental regulations.
  • Manage and maintain our fleet of vehicles, ensuring that they are properly maintained and meet all regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with our suppliers and customers, ensuring that their needs are met and exceeded.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a transport management role, with a strong understanding of logistics and supply chain management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement improvements to processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Valid UK driving license and a good understanding of the UK road network.
  • Knowledge of telematics and associated reporting, with the ability to analyze and interpret data to inform decision-making.
