Mechanical Estimator

About the Role:
CJC Recruit is seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator to join our team on behalf of a large electrical/mechanical contracting client. The successful candidate will be based in the Bonnybridge area and will be responsible for providing estimating and costing services for various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and detailed estimates for projects, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
- Liaise closely with electrical and construction estimators to ensure comprehensive scope capture.
- Populate manual takeoffs with agreed-upon schedules of rates.
- Produce clear and concise costings, including itemized prime costs and applied markups and margin.
- Prepare RFIs to clarify client requirements and ensure compliance with building regulations and statutory authority legislation.
- Correctly interpret 3D models, drawings, and documents for takeoff purposes.
- Assess buildability of installations and provide proactive solutions, including access equipment, lifting plant, and site setup preliminaries.
- Estimate materials, plant, prelims, and labor to provide complete priced cost plans.
- Verify quotes from suppliers and subcontractors are comprehensive and include all necessary elements.
- Verify quote validity in line with the current client offer.
- Liaise with clients to meet their design brief.
Requirements:
- Experience in a similar role.
- Ideal contracting background.
- Relevant qualifications.
- Valid driving license.
