Your Next Challenge

Holmen, a pioneering customer and employee-orientated business, is seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead the IT department at the Workington Mill. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing an efficient IT service to the business, capable of delivering 24/7 operations mill-wide.

About the Role

The successful candidate will report to the Head of Engineering and be responsible for managing and coordinating the IT resources and work within the department. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and coordinating IT resources and work within the department
  • Providing IT support during shuts and the operation of the plant
  • Sustaining and improving the reliability, availability, and costs for IT systems
  • Prioritizing projects within the IT team
  • Providing safety and security for all IT systems
  • Developing and implementing plans for IT system sustainability
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An excellent knowledge of IT in a 24/7 business-critical environment
  • Excellent leadership and service management skills
Desirable Qualifications

In addition to the above requirements, the following qualifications would be desirable:

  • A minimum qualification of HNC in an appropriate discipline, with a preference for a degree
  • Excellent analytical, design, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in the Paper & Board industry or other process/advanced manufacturing industry
  • An excellent knowledge of the company's processes
  • Experience in both the working environment and Health & Safety
