Film London is seeking to fill four vacant positions on our board of directors, chaired by Daniel Battsek, due to the departure of experienced members.
We are specifically seeking individuals with expertise in the creative screen industries across the following areas:
- Policy and Public Sector: We are looking for individuals with a strong understanding of the public sector and governmental processes and policy.
- Legal: Ideal candidates will have a comprehensive understanding of legal frameworks within the creative industries.
- Finance and Investment: We are seeking candidates with a strong financial acumen and a demonstrated ability to guide strategic financial decisions and ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Fundraising and Philanthropic Giving: We are looking for candidates with a strong background in fundraising and philanthropic giving for cultural charities and the arts.
- Skills and Diversity and Inclusion: We are looking for candidates with a background in promoting diversity and inclusion initiatives, as well as expertise in talent development.
Film London supports the production of the full range of content shot in London, offers an exciting and inspiring programme of short film productions, talent development above and below the line, as well as supporting Artists' Moving Image work, audience development and delivering annually a range of key markets in London.

About Film LondonFilm London is the capital's screen industries agency. We connect ideas, talent and finance to develop a pioneering creative culture in the city that delivers success in film, television, animation, games and beyond.
We work to sustain, promote and develop London as a global content production hub, support the development of the city's new and emerging filmmaking talent and invest in a diverse and rich film culture. Film London is funded by the Mayor of London, the National Lottery through the BFI, and receives significant support from Arts Council England and DBT.
Film London also has a national division, the British Film Commission and co-owns Games London with UK Interactive Entertainment (Ukie).
Key ResponsibilitiesAlong with the full range of responsibilities for shaping Film London's future direction, the key responsibilities of the new board members will be the following:
- Raise Awareness: Raise awareness of the value of our talent development work and the contribution it makes to the reputation and strength of the UK's talent pipeline.
- Strategic Leadership: Help shape Film London's strategies and policies. Help champion London's emergent and diverse talent. Help identify and grow the commercial potential of our partnerships and programmes.
Membership of specific Board sub-committees:
- Finance and Audit: Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of Film London's production activities.
- Commercial: Provide industry expertise in relation to production schemes/activities.
- Talent Development and Production: Champion Film London's talent development work and chairing the sub-committee of the Film London Board overseeing Film London's talent development and production work and supporting us in strengthening our outreach to diverse and under-represented communities.
Board members will also be expected to follow the Seven Nolan Principles for commitment to public life.
RequirementsThe ideal candidates should possess extensive expertise and proven leadership at an executive level in the creative screen industries in the following domains: Policy/Public Sector, Legal, Finance/Investment, Fundraising / Philanthropic Giving, Skills/Diversity and Inclusion.
