Job Title: Pastoral Support Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pastoral Support Assistant to join our team at MLK Education Search. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in helping students with pastoral and behavioural needs to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualised support to students with complex needs, including behaviour data analysis and the creation of tailored behaviour plans.
  • Work closely with teachers and teaching assistants to develop and implement effective intervention strategies to manage student behaviour.
  • Liaise with external agencies to write reports, develop and implement Educational, Health and Care Plans, and Additional Needs Plans.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to relevant staff on the effectiveness of behaviour strategies.
  • Support students in developing social skills, promoting self-esteem and independence, and encouraging positive relationships with peers and staff.
  • Coach and mentor students to improve their behaviour and engagement with education.
Requirements:
  • GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Relevant training in attendance strategies (desirable) or a commitment to undergo training after probationary period.
  • Strong experience of planning, managing and implementing attendance strategies within a school setting.
  • Experience identifying interventions to raise attendance of pupils.
  • Experience of planning and monitoring progress of individual/small groups.
  • Experience working directly with pupils and parents.
  • Experience analysing data and producing reports and identifying key insights.
