Role Overview

As our Part-Time HR Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing HR policies and procedures, managing employee relations, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. This is a hybrid role, with occasional visits to our office required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and write a comprehensive company handbook outlining our HR policies and procedures.
  • Create and manage annual leave and sickness absence policies to ensure compliance with employment laws.
  • Ensure best HR practices are implemented and maintained across the organisation, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Handle employee relations issues and provide guidance to managers on HR-related matters.
  • Oversee recruitment and onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for new employees.
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Contribute to the development of HR strategy aligned with business objectives, providing expert advice and support.
  • Provide HR advice and support to employees and management, promoting a culture of open communication and collaboration.

Requirements

  • CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience.
  • Proven experience in HR, preferably in a start-up or small business environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • Comfortable managing international freelancer contracts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and HR software systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Working Arrangements

  • Part-time position (6 hours per week).
  • Hybrid working model with occasional visits to our office.
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
