Company Overview:
A prominent Tier 1 Main Contractor with a strong presence in the Essex region is seeking a Lead Quantity Surveyor to oversee a significant New Build initiative valued at around £30 million. This project is currently in its second phase and is set to commence on-site shortly, with an estimated duration of two years.
Our client boasts a robust project pipeline, particularly within the local market, spanning various sectors such as Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Mixed-Use, MOD, and Residential.
The senior leadership team is highly regarded for their effective communication and commitment to employee training and development, fostering a supportive work environment.
This organization enjoys a leading staff retention rate in the area and has a busy workload planned for the upcoming years.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for all aspects of daily commercial management, which includes but is not limited to: measurement and valuations, payment applications, account reconciliations, managing subcontract orders and inquiries, and overseeing the project through to practical completion and final account settlement.
Essential qualifications include prior experience managing projects exceeding £10 million as the lead Quantity Surveyor, along with a solid understanding of Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) and monthly reporting processes. Experience with two-stage projects is considered a plus.
Applicants should possess a minimum of 7-10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a Main Contractor environment, demonstrating a stable career trajectory with a focus on New Build projects. Strong negotiation skills and a proven track record in subcontractor procurement are also required.
