GHD Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Energy Storage Systems Engineer to join our international team shaping a sustainable and resilient energy future. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and inspiring teams delivering high-impact projects, fostering excellence in all aspects of energy storage design and engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire teams delivering high-impact projects, fostering excellence in all aspects of energy storage design and engineering.
- Provide advanced technical input to address energy storage challenges and opportunities, developing and implementing solutions from conceptual stage through to detailed engineering.
- Spearhead feasibility studies and capital estimates, undertaking techno-economic modelling and optimisation/sizing studies for microgrids and hybrid systems.
- Lead key equipment vendor selection processes, ensuring that selected vendors meet project requirements and standards.
- Conduct condition site inspections of energy storage assets during and at the completion of projects.
- Oversee projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and key point of contact for technical expertise and project delivery.
- Contribute to business development activities, including proposal preparation, client presentations and the expansion of GHD's portfolio in the energy sector.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, energy systems or a related field.
- Extensive experience in energy storage engineering at a Principal or Technical Director level.
- Deep knowledge of battery technologies, energy management systems and power electronics.
- Proficiency in design software and simulation tools.
- Proven track record of leading complex projects, with a strong focus on technical excellence, client satisfaction and commercial success.
- Adept at navigating the regulatory landscape and ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
