Job Title: Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs in a Primary School in Small Heath, Birmingham.

The successful candidate will be working on a 1:1 basis with a pupil in Reception who has ASD and additional needs, requiring personal care assistance. The school is looking for an individual with previous experience in a similar role, including a passion for working with children with SEND.

This is a long-term ongoing position, due to start in September 2024. The school also offers the opportunity for emergency cover, so if you are looking for a few days' work each week, this option is available.

Job Details:

Requirements:

  • Teaching assistant experience, along with a relevant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 Qualification in Childcare/TA/Early Years)
  • Experience of working with children with SEND/Additional Needs
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training is imperative; you can undertake a free course with Prospero Teaching if you have not completed a Safeguarding course in the last 12 months

Eligibility:

  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK
  • Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child-related references
