Clinical/Research Fellow

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical/Research Fellow to join our Trauma and Orthopaedic team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. The successful candidate will play a key role in the coordination of research activities, supporting the delivery of high-quality data, and contributing to the development of the department's research portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation of grant applications and facilitate the recruitment of patients in clinical trials.
- Support medical staff in obtaining patient records and maintain databases to ensure accurate documentation of research activities.
- Organize research meetings and produce regular reports reflecting the overall work of the unit.
- Attend courses and present at national and international meetings to promote the department's research portfolio.
- Deliver end-user training in the use of departmental database systems to ensure high-quality data.
The Trauma and Orthopaedic department at Leeds Teaching Hospitals is a large and dynamic unit, contributing to both service delivery and academic research. The department consists of 34 Consultants, including a Professor of Trauma Surgery, and a team of junior doctors, nurses, and other support staff.
Person SpecificationWe are looking for a candidate with:
- At least 5 years of experience in Orthopaedic Surgery at ST3+ level.
- Eligibility for full registration with the GMC and a current license to practice.
- Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent.
- Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English, adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics.
- Recognition of, and ability to undertake the initial management of, an acutely ill patient.
