PE Support Role at GSL Education

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic PE Support to join our team at a client school in Rotherham. As a PE Support, you will play a vital role in the Physical Education department, assisting in delivering engaging and inclusive sports activities that inspire students to lead healthy and active lives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the PE teacher in planning and delivering a variety of sports and physical activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
  • Provide individual and group support to students, promoting participation and skill development in sports and physical education.
  • Help manage equipment and maintain a well-organized environment for PE lessons, ensuring that all necessary resources are available.
  • Support students with different abilities, adapting activities to meet their needs and ensuring that everyone can participate.
  • Encourage positive attitudes towards health and fitness among students, promoting a culture of physical activity and well-being.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of sports events, competitions, and extracurricular activities, working collaboratively with the PE teacher and other staff members.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a PE Support role or a similar position in an educational setting, with a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • A passion for sports and physical education, with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and independently when required.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality support to students.
