Project Engineering Manager

A highly successful food manufacturer is seeking a skilled Project Engineering Manager to lead a diverse range of projects across manufacturing, warehouse, and office facilities. The ideal candidate will have a project engineering background, ideally in an FMCG environment, with experience in delivering projects in fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and write capex proposals and present to the senior team.
  2. Work as part of a cross-functional team to deliver the agreed objectives of the project and encourage each function to work together as one team.
  3. Write tender specifications which can be used for suppliers and contractors' selection to deliver the objectives of the project.
  4. Manage a tracker system against budget and timings, constantly updating and communicating this to stakeholders.
  5. Actively seek out new technology that would enhance the business processes and facilities.
  6. Ensure all new machinery coming to site is fully commissioned with all handover documentation to the engineering teams and a full training package for both engineering and wider operational teams.
  7. Continually set out best practice in project management with weekly reporting on key deliverables.
Requirements:
  1. A project engineering background ideally in an FMCG environment.
  2. Examples of delivering projects in fast-paced environments.
  3. Previous success in devising capex budgets and working within the boundaries to deliver the projects.
  4. Experience of working with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally to deliver the project remit.
  5. Demonstrated a proactive approach with the ability to get involved in the details and work to time constraints.
  6. Ability to plan and prioritise key areas within a project and ensure targets are met.
