Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Specialist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Vocational Rehabilitation Assistant in the Community Head Injury Service. This fixed-term position is available until June 14, 2025, and requires a 37.5-hour workweek.
Under the supervision of Occupational Therapists and a Placement Consultant, you will support adults with acquired brain injuries to achieve their vocational rehabilitation goals in one-on-one and group therapy sessions. These sessions may take place in clients' homes, Brookside Clinic, or other community settings.
Main Duties of the JobThe role is based at the Community Head Injury Service, Brookside Clinic, where you will deliver specialized vocational rehabilitation programs as agreed upon between the client and Occupational Therapists or Placement Consultants. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to deliver client-centered assessments and interventions.
Key responsibilities include assisting clients to prepare for work through rehabilitation, coaching, and liaising with employers, occupational health, human resources, and job center staff. You will also be responsible for various administration tasks and must possess high-level communication skills to establish therapeutic relationships with individuals who have complex difficulties.

Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will possess a RQF Level 3 health or care-related qualification, Level 2 functional skills, and a Care Certificate. They will also have a good level of education to GCSE standard and a Grade C GCSE or equivalent in English. Current driving license and DBS Enhanced level of disclosure are also required.
Desirable criteria include vocational training, previous experience working in a healthcare setting, and experience managing a caseload to support clients to develop skills to overcome barriers due to their disabilities.
