Job Title: Editorial Director

We are seeking an experienced Editorial Director to lead our editorial team and drive the development of high-quality content for our clients in the sports industry.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the editorial output, management, and analysis for our clients' websites, as well as regular client status meetings and daily content-focused liaison with clients. They will also be responsible for regular content planning on a daily, weekly, and fortnightly basis for our clients' websites, in both English and French.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in editorial management, with experience in SEO, CMS, and GA4. They will also have a solid understanding of editorial fundamentals, methodologies, and techniques, as well as a keen interest in sport, with a good knowledge of club rugby (including French rugby).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the editorial output, management, and analysis for our clients' websites
  • Regular client status meetings and daily content-focused liaison with clients
  • Regular content planning on a daily, weekly, and fortnightly basis for our clients' websites, in both English and French
  • Writing and ownership of content plans for delivery to clients
  • Copywriting and curation of articles, conducting interviews, and managing uploading to CMS
  • Implement a tone of voice and drive the consistency and strategy behind it
  • Contribute to editorial strategies, linking to social strategies
  • Optimising content and copy to suit different markets and objectives with different types of content
  • Remain up-to-date with changes in SEO best practice, tools, and analysis, and CMS platform updates
  • Leading on using SEO-focused tools, GA4, and GSC, and working closely with the Insights team to ensure content reports are fit for delivery to clients
Requirements
  • Trained journalist with experience in SEO, CMS, and GA4
  • Solid agency or similar experience (within sports, news, or social media agency preferable)
  • Business-level French and English
  • Strong knowledge of editorial fundamentals, methodologies, and techniques
  • A keen interest in sport, with a good knowledge of club rugby (including French rugby)
  • A natural relationship builder
  • Acts on initiative within a fast-paced news environment if required
  • Able to provide a clear point of view across all facets of project lifecycles
  • Communicates effectively in verbal or written form, professionally and in a transparent manner
