About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Technical Assistant / QA to join our team at a well-established and award-winning food manufacturer based in Wells, Somerset. As a Technical Assistant / QA, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Quality Manager in maintaining and enhancing the quality and food safety management standards across all areas of the food manufacturing site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sampling, testing, auditing, and monitoring to verify that all processes, procedures, and products are being produced in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Gathering and preparing samples for microbiological assessment as per agreed schedules.
  • Following up on reports of problematic raw materials/WIP ingredients/finished goods to ensure decisions are made and communicated to the wider business in a timely manner.
  • Carrying out internal audits, including GMP, Fabrication, and Hygiene Audits.
  • Auditing and filing production paperwork.
  • Investigating customer complaints, quality issues, or any non-conformance.
  • CCP verification and validation.
  • Completing and updating data logging systems.
  • Supporting the implementation, embedding, and maintenance of a QA approach within the production teams.
  • Supporting Quality and QMS Technologists with workloads.

Requirements:

  • Previous technical experience in a food, drink, or pharmaceutical sector.
  • Experience in a QA or QC role is preferable.
  • A can-do attitude.
