Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our esteemed team at Ipswich Hospital in the musculoskeletal department. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant to lead our team in providing exceptional care to patients with early inflammatory arthritis.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver a consultant-led service with the highest standards of care. Key duties will include developing and maintaining good working practices within wards, outpatients, and A&E, as well as collaborating with colleagues in tertiary centres, community services, and primary care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with early inflammatory arthritis
  • Develop and maintain clinical guidelines and care pathways
  • Lead and support junior medical colleagues, nursing colleagues, and other members of the multidisciplinary team
  • Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to the development of the department's strategic plan

Person Specification
  • MRCP (UK) or equivalent qualification
  • Specialist accreditation or within 6 months of attaining CCT
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCST in Rheumatology
  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients
  • Ability to work in a team and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment
