Connect Appointments is pleased to present a rewarding opportunity for a skilled Mechanic to contribute to the growth of our client, based in Kirkcaldy, in the capacity of a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Technician.
As a Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician, your primary responsibilities will include executing maintenance and repair tasks on a contemporary fleet of heavy vehicles and trailers. Your duties will encompass:
- Conducting thorough inspections to identify issues and reporting these to the Workshop Manager.
- Performing maintenance and repairs on a fleet of HGVs and trailers, aiming for a first-time pass rate of 100% for MOTs.
- Completing necessary documentation and keeping accurate records of all work performed.
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures, especially those concerning health and safety.
- Ensuring a clean and organized work environment.
To excel in this position, you should ideally possess the following skills, attributes, and experience:
- The capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Reliability, punctuality, and flexibility, along with a willingness to acquire new skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Basic proficiency in computer operations.
- Previous experience in a mechanic or vehicle technician role is advantageous.
In this role, you will receive a competitive salary starting at £35,000 per annum, along with a variety of benefits, including regular overtime and enhanced pay rates. Weekend on-call compensation is available at £80 (if any call-outs occur, this is reduced to £40, plus double time for all hours worked, with a guaranteed minimum of 2 hours paid).
Your working schedule will alternate between day shifts and back shifts weekly:
- Day Shift: Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm (with an early finish on Fridays).
- Back Shift: Monday to Friday, 2:30pm to 11pm (with an early finish on Fridays) & Saturday 7am to 12pm.
