As an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for working on Refurbishment and fit out projects from £300K in value up to £5m across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the quantity surveying function for assigned projects, including cost estimation, cost control, and contract management.
* Attend and participate in scoping visits and survey meetings as required.
* Develop detailed cost plans for all projects and ensure comprehensive handover to the project team.
* Liaise with the Client Project Quantity Surveyor/Cost Manager.
* Handle subcontractor inquiries.
* Conduct subcontractor cost analysis.
* Provide support to the Commercial Manager.
* Place subcontractor orders under agreed contractual terms.
* Offer commercial advice, guidance, and support to the Project Manager and delivery teams.
* Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Produce reports, provide commentary on movements, and update on risks and opportunities.
* Ensure project compliance with the commercial requirements of the contract.
* Ensure risks are back-to-back/passed down to sub-contractors.
* Undertake client and subcontractor valuations.
* Maximise the contract's cash position and provide cash flow forecasting.
* Approve payments to subcontractors.
* Track and capture customer variations and challenge subcontractor final accounts.
* Participate in lessons learned and post-contract reviews to provide continual improvement to the business.

Requirements:

* A minimum of 3 years spent in a similar capacity within the construction industry, ideally with Refurb and fit out contractor.
* Good sound knowledge of commercial and construction contracts and contractual arrangements.
* Preferred background in retail fit-out / construction.
