About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Developer to join our team at Pearson Assessment Services. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex digital projects using the Laravel development framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement DB structures in MySQL
  • Estimation and development following an Agile approach
  • Delivery of complex digital projects to tight deadlines
  • Designing software systems for cloud-based architecture
  • Working with project managers, product owners, and operation teams to ensure applications are successfully delivered to production
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Very strong experience with PHP and frameworks (Laravel)
  • Awareness of application architecture in cloud-based environments (AWS)
  • Proven track record of working in a business systems development project environment from beginning to end
  • Strong knowledge of UI design
  • Experience of designing large data, high traffic, scalable solutions
  • Experience of JavaScript and associated frameworks (especially beneficial)
