Product Line Architect

The Fuzing Systems Product Architect will be responsible for defining and implementing the product architecture for Fuzing Systems, ensuring alignment with the company's overall strategy and goals.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of product architecture for Fuzing Systems, including technical choices and roadmaps.
- Analyze product needs and requirements to define technical solutions, balancing requirements with schedule, cost, and maintainability objectives.
- Work closely with the Chief Technologist Fuzing Systems and Technical Director to ensure technical feasibility and compliance with future needs.
- Define and manage Product Line Engineering (PLE) and product variability, commonality, and re-use across the product line.
- Maximize re-use of common building blocks and technology across the Fuzing Product Line.
- Prepare the technical part of the Product Plan, including product technical definition, architecture, and building blocks.
- Support the strategy and preparation of fuzing research bids and estimates to secure external funding.
- Act as PDA and Research Project Manager for key customer-funded fuzing studies of strategic importance.
- Alert the Missile Electronics Business Lead and Technical Director to technical issues arising in the Product Line.
- Participate in system-level design reviews of products being developed within the Product Line.
- Participate in Fuzing Product Decision Reviews.
- Work closely with Fuzing Design Authority and associated Project Design Authorities (PDAs).
The ideal candidate will have experience in the architecture definition and specification of Electronic Safe & Arm Fuzing Systems for guided weapons, required to operate in harsh environments.
- Aware of the relevant Fuzing standards (e.g. STANAG 4187) and their application to the design and architecture of Fuzing Systems.
- Experienced in the architecture definition and specification of lidar/radar Proximity Sensors for Fuzing applications in guided weapons, required to operate in harsh environments.
- Degree qualified or equivalent in either Electronics or in Physics.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in compiling quality presentation material and presenting clearly to customers and at conferences.
