The Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at one of our residential care homes in Herne Bay, Kent. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of our residents and staff by performing routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and upkeep of the premises and grounds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform regular maintenance checks to identify and address potential issues
  • Carry out necessary repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure the premises and grounds are safe and well-maintained
  • Conduct fire, basic electrical, and appliance checks to ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Report and promptly action any faults or issues that may affect the safety or well-being of residents and staff
  • Keep the grounds tidy and well-maintained, including gardening and external repairs
  • Contribute to the successful running of the care home as a valuable member of the team

Requirements

  • Experience in general maintenance, care taking, building maintenance, and decorating
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic electrical and plumbing knowledge
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
