Job Overview

Are you passionate about working with children and families in a supportive environment? We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Social Worker to become part of our Adoption Services team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will deepen your understanding of the long-term effects of early trauma and neglect, contributing to the recruitment, preparation, and assessment of prospective adoptive families.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and matching adoptive families with children in need of stable homes.
  • Providing comprehensive support throughout the linking and matching process.
  • Delivering a variety of Post Adoption Services, including group facilitation and individualized family support.
  • Offering assistance to all individuals impacted by adoption, including birth parents and adoptees seeking to connect with their birth families.

Qualifications

This position involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. The successful candidate will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If you have spent a continuous period of three months or more outside the UK in the last five years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be necessary. A confirmed offer of employment will depend on the satisfactory completion of these pre-employment checks.

Applicants for this role will be required to attend an assessment center in addition to an interview.

A minimum of two references is required, one of which must be from your current or most recent employer.
