Urology Consultant Specialist

Position Overview
South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust is in search of a dedicated and proactive Urology Consultant to enhance our collaborative team of five specialists. This role is supported by two Specialty doctors, a West Midlands Deanery Specialist Registrar, two junior doctors, and three Foundation Year 1 doctors. Additionally, the consultant will work alongside five experienced Urology Clinical Nurse Specialists who manage the dedicated Urology Unit and perform various investigative procedures. Our service is further bolstered by two interventional Radiologists and a multidisciplinary meeting that includes a visiting Oncologist.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate flexibility and share responsibilities in alignment with the service's needs. They will receive equivalent office space and administrative support comparable to that of current consultants. The Trust is committed to ensuring that the selected candidate enjoys equitable working conditions alongside their peers.
The job plan will align with the new consultant contract and will be regularly reviewed as part of the established appraisal and job-planning process.

Job Duties
- Collaborate with Consultant colleagues to ensure compliance with clinical governance requirements and actively participate in Trust Committees.
- Assume relevant management responsibilities and lead initiatives aligned with the new appointee's interests and expertise.
- Engage actively in teaching and training activities.
- Contribute to the management and development of clinical services.
- Participate in research and development efforts within the department.
- Ensure effective communication channels are established for hospital staff involved in patient care.
