About the Role:

  • Support service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey, fostering a culture of trust and empowerment.
  • Deliver evidence-based psychosocial interventions as part of the Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service within the prison estate, prioritizing individualized care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers as part of an Integrated Health and Wellbeing model, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Advocate on behalf of service users who are unwilling or unable to engage in treatment, promoting autonomy and self-determination.
  • Proactively follow up with service users who miss appointments, increasing opportunities for engagement and positive outcomes.
  • Contribute to risk management processes, including prison ACCT processes, to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
  • Work with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives, promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.

About You:

  • Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience working within a similar field, ideally within the prison or criminal justice sector.
  • Be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, with good IT skills, to effectively engage with stakeholders.
  • Be proactive and able to work independently, with excellent time management and prioritization skills, to meet service demands.
  • Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and best practices, to provide informed care.
  • Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage change successfully, prioritizing the needs of service users and adapting to evolving service requirements.
  • Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to following and applying all necessary safeguards.
  • Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills, contributing to the learning and development of others.
