Detailed Job Description

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead a team of occupational therapists in a dynamic and supportive environment. As a Clinical Director for Adult Mental Health Services, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and direction to the team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to patients and their families.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and direction to the team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to patients and their families.
  • Develop and implement clinical strategies to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care pathways and effective communication.
  • Manage and supervise a team of occupational therapists, providing guidance and support to ensure they are equipped to deliver high-quality services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of service improvement plans.
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A clinical qualification in occupational therapy.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Evidence of further education or continuous professional development.
  • Leadership/management training.
  • Experience of working in a mental health setting.
  • Experience of leading and managing a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Criteria

The following criteria would be desirable:

  • Experience of managing a budget.
  • Experience of working in a leadership or management role.
  • Experience of developing and implementing clinical strategies.
  • Experience of collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
Finance and Resources

The post holder will be responsible for managing a budget and ensuring the effective use of resources to deliver high-quality services.
