Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Control Leader to join our team at the Bridgwater Dairy on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will oversee the quality management system, ensuring the delivery of superior products while continuously striving for improvement in alignment with Müller’s core values. This role is pivotal in fostering Operational Excellence through stringent quality compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 10 direct reports.
- Provide expertise in Quality Management Systems.
- Exhibit motivation and drive to enhance quality-based performance.
- Actively engage in problem-solving initiatives.
- Contribute to building Quality Management System capabilities across the site.
- Oversee laboratory management and fulfill other QMS responsibilities.
- Support operational quality control processes.
- Demonstrate strong IT skills and capabilities.
- Govern and manage the Quality Index and other monthly reporting metrics.
- Lead internal and external audit processes.
- Foster positive relationships with suppliers and customers.
- Encourage the identification of waste reduction opportunities.
- Seek improvement opportunities within the workplace and initiate Continuous Improvement projects.
- Own and implement Continuous Improvement initiatives, gaining recognition for contributions.
- Utilize available resources to empower others in enhancing operational processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business improvements.
- Support team members in demonstrating their contributions to Continuous Improvement through the Performance Development Process.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Prior experience in roles such as Technical Coordinator, Quality Control Leader, or Laboratory Manager.
- Strong influencing and communication skills.
- Advanced problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with A3 problem-solving methodologies.
- Knowledge of retailer codes of practice.
- Experience with BRC audits.
- Proficient in Word and Excel.
- Understanding of HACCP principles.
- Advanced food hygiene knowledge.
- Background in microbiology.
- Dairy industry experience is highly desirable.
