Job Title: Senior Associate, Insurance

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Associate to join our Court of Protection team at Talbots Law.

About the Role

As a Senior Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional client service while undertaking a full range of Court of Protection work. This will include managing and assisting on a varied caseload, advising clients on applications for the appointment of Deputies for Property & Financial Affairs, Health & Welfare Deputies, and other related matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and assist on a varied caseload of Court of Protection matters
  • Advise clients on applications for the appointment of Deputies and other related matters
  • Liaise with IFAs in relation to the investment of Deputy Client funds and claiming Benefits from the DWP and local authority
  • Update relevant software and maintain compliance requirements in line with SRA, Lexcel, and Law Society Quality scheme Standards
  • Work closely with the Court of Protection team to provide excellent client service and support
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 3 years' experience of working as a Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with experience of working in a similar role within a Court of Protection Department
  • Expert knowledge of Court of Protection, including applications, advising clients, Deputies, and Attorneys on investigations by the Office of the Public Guardian
  • Working competency of a range of issues in the Court of Protection and Office of the Public Guardian
  • Excellent administrative, planning, and organisational skills
  • Working knowledge of case management systems and Microsoft Office applications
