About the Role:

Voyage Care Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our team in Taunton. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life of the individuals we support, while also contributing to the management and supervision of our residential service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support individuals to gain independence in their daily lives, while assisting the Manager with day-to-day supervision and management of the service.
  • Allocate shifts, book training, induct new colleagues, support with supervision, order medication, and ensure individuals are supported to manage their finances.
  • Work collaboratively with the management team to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each individual.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and understanding.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting individuals with complex needs.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Senior Support Worker, with a strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with autism, acquired brain injury, complex mental health needs, traumatic backgrounds, and challenging behaviors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with individuals, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and shifts.
  • Strong problem-solving and crisis management skills, with a calm and composed demeanor in high-pressure situations.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a passion for delivering high-quality care and support.
