Culinary Specialist

Position Overview:
As a Culinary Specialist, you will be responsible for creating and delivering nutritious meals for residents, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh and budget-friendly. You will uphold all health and safety standards while maintaining a high-quality kitchen environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and serve well-balanced meals and beverages, taking into account the cultural and dietary preferences of residents.
- Collaborate with residents to design menus that reflect their choices and preferences.
- Supervise and mentor kitchen staff in food production, service methods, and required standards, including organizing work schedules as necessary.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen team members to ensure all daily tasks are completed efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records for stock control, food orders, invoice documentation, cash reconciliation, and other necessary audit records.
- Ensure a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained at all times, adhering to relevant health and safety regulations.
- Procure supplies in line with the planned menu while effectively monitoring and managing stock levels.

Essential Experience:
- Proven experience in food preparation and service.
- Background in a care home kitchen setting.
- Experience working with elderly individuals.
Essential Qualifications:
- Basic Food Hygiene Training NVQ Level 1 or equivalent.
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate.
Additional Information:
- Enhanced DBS required.
