About the Role:

Volkswagen Financial Services is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team. As a Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting our company-wide data initiative by interpreting and analyzing complex datasets to provide insights and support data-driven decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the data analysis and data modelling - conceptual, logical and physical models - across products and business areas and understanding of systems, platforms and data integration patterns.
  • Support the strategic, platform and technical leadership within the enterprise data, data engineering and data product teams to collect data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the data.
  • Lead the definition, development, delivery of data models, data algorithms and statistical analysis to extract insights and support decisions.
  • Support the data product teams, data management, data architecture, enterprise data and cross-functional teams by extensively collaborating with these teams to understand business requirements and provide data-driven business solutions and services.
  • Lead the definition, development and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and data visualisations to communicate data findings effectively across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate closely with our data engineers, data product teams and SMEs to optimise data collection, storage, and retrieval processes.
  • Work together with data governance to monitor data quality, identify data issues and propose data cleansing or enhancement solutions.
  • Lead data exploration and data analysis by using statistical tools and techniques to explore and analyse data, identifying patterns, relationships, and trends.

Requirements:

  • Advanced working data knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as a working familiarity with a variety of databases.
  • Good skills and experience in data modelling and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience of one or more data management capabilities such as extraction, ingestion, integration, transformation, virtualisation, visualisation, BI & analytics and MDM.
  • Data governance capabilities such as lineage, meta data management & data catalogues, data quality.
  • Experience of supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment and, working with agile teams, value streams and communities of practice.
  • Experience with Integration and data platforms such as Informatica, SAP DS, Oracle DWH and relational SQL.
  • Experience of UML, BizzDesign, Sparx EA and other relevant data modelling tools such as Erwin and ER Studio.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex datasets and generate meaningful data insights.
  • Ability to work with large datasets through data cleansing, pre-processing, and transformation techniques.
  • Knowledge of data visualisation best practices to effectively communicate insights.
  • Excellent skills in big data technologies across the data landscape e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Informatica, SQL, Python, NoSQL, SAP DS.
  • Strong skills and experience with data analysis and visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to articulate business requirements into more detailed data specifications for product & data development teams.
  • A high level of data & AI, data engineering, data platform design and management skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex data and arguments in a way that is accessible to everyone.
